The Scotland Island Residents’ Association Committee needs you!

Do you have interests and skills that you would like to use in contributing to your community?

SIRAC seeks engaged, community-minded islanders to fulfil the following positions on the Committee and Subcommittees:

  • ·       Team Leader for the Church Point Subcommittee, which deals with issues such as amenities at Church Point ferry wharf and public spaces, parking and other developments at this vital meeting and transit point. For more information see the Church Point SC Charter.
  • ·       A Treasurer to fill in until at least the next AGM. The Treasurer works closely with the Accountant to oversee SIRA’s finances. For more information see the Finance and Insurance Charter.
  • ·       People to join the Waste Subcommittee. Waste and recycling are important issues on the island so we need more people to be active in liaising with and lobbying Council on waste. For more information see the Waste and Recycling Charter.

The Committee meets about once every six weeks and Subcommittees set times for meetings, which optimally should occur approximately once every six weeks as well.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or newly settled, volunteering is a great way to meet people and contribute to community living.
